Winemaker Notes
This wine is 100% Merlot from our Alexander Valley property. Grapes were harvested on September 12, 2004. After crushing the fruit, the juice was fermented is stainless steel tanks with pump-overs twice a day and punch downs three times a day. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is racked to and aged for 18 months in French oak (50% new barrels). After light filtration, total production was 115 cases.
Tasting Notes
An elegant nose of black fruits, cedar, and tobacco with hints of vanilla with flavors of black cherry, tar, and chocolate, with anise notes. Full bodied with firm chewy tannins and a long finish.
