2014 Chardonnay - Estate
Harvest is always very early in the morning so the grapes are delivered to the winery while cold. They are crushed, pressed then fermented, half in stainless steel tanks and half in small oak barrels. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine is put through a partial malolactic fermentation, then blended and returned to 33% new French oak barrels for 9 months. A vibrant nose of fresh apple, lemon, and butterscotch opens a rich and balanced wine. Flavors are of lemon meringue and apple pie with a clean, lingering finish. Excellent served with mild cheeses, chicken, most shellfish, and pasta salads. Our 2014 Chardonnay would also be an excellent complement to chicken Caesar salad.
