The grapes originated from Bill and Yvonne Kreck's south facing home vineyard in the Alexander Valley.  This Merlot has characteristics of blueberry, blackberry, cola, and light toast with a hint of vanilla.   It has a dark ruby color and exhibits medium body with silky tannins and is layered with a long finish.  The wine would pair especially well with red meats. It would also go well with grilled salmon with sage, grilled lamb or a rich lamb shank dish. It is also excellent with bleu cheese or sharp cheddar.
