Our 2022 vintage originates from our Hillside vineyard, located on the eastern-facing slope behind our tasting room. The grapes were hand-picked at 24.5 degrees Brix. After the three-minute trip to the winery, the grapes were sorted and 100% de-stemmed. Following a five-day cold soak, BDX yeast was used to initiate fermentation. The wine was either pumped over or punched down two to three times per day during fermentation. A portion of the lot was fermented in open-top fermenters, while the other half fermented in stainless steel. Following fermentation, the wine was aged in 40% new French oak for 20 months before being blended and bottled.
The Hillside Zinfandel is sourced solely from the small hillside block behind our tasting room. This elegant yet inviting red wine opens with a fruit-forward profile of red plum and strawberry. With moderate to low tannins, the wine carries a sweet peppercorn spice layered over juicy red fruit. Twenty months in French oak lend depth and subtle structure while preserving its vibrant character. Perfect for summer BBQs, pasta pomodoro, or anyone seeking an approachable, easy-drinking red.
