Winemaker Notes

Our 2018 Corner Pocket Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the north end of the estate property in Southern Dry Creek Valley. The vineyard is so named because Charles Kreck (father of Bill and grandfather of winemaker Jeremy) used to call this section of the property the "corner pocket" and the name stuck.  Harvest was by hand early in the mornings of October 30, 31, and Nov. 1, 2018.  The grapes were crushed and allowed to cold soak on their skins for 8 days.  This process allows for more flavor and color.  The wine is then fermented and then aged in French Oak for 15 months. The wine was bottled July 8, 2020.

Tasting Notes

This Cabernet Sauvignon has a beautiful deep color.  Aromas of ripe dark fruits and clove follow with flavors to match.  The finish is lingering and spicy. Tannins are light. The wine is delicious now but can be aged for several more years.  Try with a grilled steak or a rack of ribs.
