2008 Gewurztraminer

Tasting Notes

Our 2008 Gewürztraminer begins with tropical notes of lychee and hints of honeysuckle. Flavors of tropical fruit and ginger lead into a long clean and quite crisp finish. Dryer than many gewürztraminers with a residual sugar of 0.6%, this is a very versatile wine.

Cellar Notes

The grapes originated from 3 acres on our estate property in southern Dry Creek Valley. After crushing and lightly pressing, the wine was fermented in jacketed stainless steel tanks at 55 degrees.

Technical Data:

Blend: 100% Gewurztraminer
Production: Stainless Steel only
Residual Sugar: .07

Cases Produced: 260
Release Date: Fall 2009

Food Pairings

Pair with Asian and Pacific Rim cuisine. It also pairs especially well with Thanksgiving dinner.

Merlot Madness at Mill Creek

In years past, Mill Creek Vineyards was perhaps better known for merlot than for any other wine it produced. We first began making merlot way back in 1976, long before most other California wineries and long, long before it became the “in” wine. Although no longer the only Mill Creek wine that consistently wins accolades, Mill Creek Merlot continues to impress wine competition judges, wine writers, visitors to our Tasting Room, and--most importantly--our loyal customers who know and love it.
